We want to extend thanks to everyone who came to our shows over the summer. We met many wonderful vendors and exhibitors during our time in Dallas, Atlanta, and New York. This time of year has been proven to be quite huge for us as retailers prepare for the upcoming holiday season. Bamboozle seeks to take advantage of this by continuously re-positioning ourselves to ensure the best service possible to all of our customers, while offering the latest designed housewares.
In New York, we debuted a new line of tabletop pieces during New York Now, in coordination with design firm, Creo NYC. This 3-piece set will feature a dessert bowl, salad bowl, and dinner plate, all made out of our bamboo material. We're still exploring color options for this line, but we can expect them to start shipping out to customers before Christmas 2018. We will continue to provide updates as we move closer to this date. While in NY, we also unveiled a new material called Astrik. This material is made from PLA bio-plastic and bamboo fiber, where raw materials are grown in the earth instead of extracted from it. Farms local to processing plants and factories reduce emissions-heavy transport to a fraction of the distance. Creating PLA itself only emits a fifth of greenhouse gases that traditional plastics do. The final product is sturdy, dishwasher and microwave safe, and composts within 2 years once you decide to throw it away.
We will be launching Astrik on Kickstarter next month with our first product: a 3-piece mixing bowl set. We are currently offering an opportunity to sign-up for our newsletter for a chance to win a set for free (2 winners will be chosen in September), as well as an exclusive offer to receive up to 50% off the retail price once the event goes live. You can sign up at astrik.earth, or with the form below.
This month we also brought on a new member to the team, who will be working with us on developing media content over the next few months. Krit Upra is a professional photographer and videographer with experience promoting local businesses behind the lens of his camera. Traveling all the way from Rochester, New York, we're excited to have him working with us in Greensboro. You can check out the video he did for our new Astrik bowl set below.
