Let’s begin with the fundamental building blocks: the materials themselves. Traditional plastics come at a high environmental cost, which is why we've invested years in sustainable development—guided by a core sustainable design principle: choosing materials that are better for both people and the planet.

Take Astrik, for example—the plant-based material behind our newest line. It wasn’t a quick fix. It took years of meticulous research to ensure it met our safety standards while fitting seamlessly into everyday kitchen routines.

Switching to plant-based plastics significantly reduces our reliance on fossil fuels and limits non-biodegradable waste. While durability remains a top priority—our products are made to last—we also consider what happens at the end of their lifecycle.

Our philosophy aligns with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation’s belief that “materials are designed to be used, not used up.” That’s why our products are compostable—returning to the earth instead of lingering in landfills.

The subtle satin texture on our mixing bowls isn’t just for looks—it helps you keep a firm grip, even with wet hands. The wide lips make for easier, cleaner pouring. Our Astrik compost bin lids feature ventilation to reduce odors without making things complicated. Our sets nest and stack neatly, saving precious cabinet space in small kitchens. Designing a product that works well in real kitchens starts with listening—to the people who cook, clean, and repeat every day.

And we do listen. When a partner chef mentioned how hard it is to scoop spices with short spoons, we lengthened the stems on ours. Because who better to guide product design than the people actually using the products?

As IDEO puts it: “If community is the future of brand-building, then participation is the future of retail.”  Every customer interaction becomes an opportunity for co-design—a living conversation that helps shape how product design evolves over time.
