Meet Our eCom Expert!

My name is Mitch, and I am the Senior eCommerce and Media Manager for Bamboozle.

I’m an upstate New York native who moved to North Carolina about 20 years ago. I enjoy good barbecue, trips to the mountains, and the first sip of coffee in the morning. I developed a passion for sustainability while attending the University of North Carolina – Greensboro. It was there that I realized how important it was for me to pursue a career that sought to better our environment and the planet we all call “home.”

While plastics can do remarkable things that benefit us, the way they are currently mass manufactured does harm in a multitude of ways. From the pollution and carbon that is released into our atmosphere, to the clogging of waterways when not properly disposed of. I knew there had to be a better way to create materials that could be used in everyday items that we all use. This curiosity led me to the topic of bioplastics.

This revolutionary method takes renewable plants like sugarcane, corn, or bamboo, and bindthem with a natural resin to create items we use every day. The result is a material that emits 1/5 of the greenhouse gasses when compared to traditional plastics and can be recycled or even composted under the right conditions.

When Bamboozle relocated to NC from the New York City area back in 2017, I discovered that they were looking for someone who could lead their marketing efforts as a young start-up. I knew this was my chance to launch the career I wanted and so I put myself forward as a candidate. These last five years have given me a wealth of knowledge, but the most important thing I’ve learned is that it is entirely possible for us to achieve a lifestyle that is more in balance with nature.

I encourage everyone to seek out ways in which they can live a more sustainable life. One of the easiest ways to start is with composting. If you have a composting set-up at home that you’re particularly proud of, we invite you to tag Bamboozle on social media.
